The Northern Lights, also known as the aurora borealis, are one of the most spectacular natural phenomena on Earth. They occur when charged particles from the Sun interact with Earth’s magnetic field and atmosphere. These particles excite gases in the atmosphere, producing the colorful waves of green, purple, and red light seen in the night sky.

Recently, sightings of the Northern Lights have increased in some regions due to higher solar activity. During periods of intense solar storms, auroras can sometimes be visible much farther south than usual. As a result, people in places that normally never see the lights occasionally get a rare chance to witness them.
